PROJECT: Goorambat Terminal Station
CLIENT: AusNet Services
LOCATION: Victoria
YEAR(S): 2024-2025
SCOPE: To design, manufacture and deliver 220kV Capacitive Voltage Transformers, Current Transformers, Support Steel Structures and Marshalling boxes
BACKGROUND: Goorambat Terminal Station is a strategic asset within AusNet Services high-voltage transmission network, located near Benalla in northern Victoria. This upgrade is part of AusNet Services broader program to strengthen grid reliability and support Victoria’s renewable energy transition.
The station plays a critical role in connecting Goorambat East Solar Farm, a 250 MW renewable energy project developed by ENGIE. AusNet Services is constructing a new 220kV terminal station and a short transmission link to integrate the solar farm into the Shepparton–Dederang 220kV line. Energisation is planned for Q3 2025, aligning with the solar farm’s commissioning schedule.
To enable this integration, AusNet Services engaged GFF Power/Arteche to supply 220kV Capacitive Voltage Transformers (CVTs) and Current Transformers (CTs) engineered for high accuracy and durability under demanding conditions. The project also required comprehensive logistical planning for international freight and site delivery, ensuring timely installation.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
- Design, manufacture and supply of Arteche capacitive voltage transformers and current transformers.
- Ongoing project management, including provision of regular updates relating to anticipated delivery timeline.
- Complete logistical assistance covering international freight, port clearance and delivery to site, including unloading.
- Technical support as required by AusNet Services throughout the project.
OUTCOMES:
All equipment was manufactured to AusNet Services specifications, produced in-line with the agreed schedule, and safely delivered to site per the project required timelines.
