PROJECT: Carwarp Terminal Station
CLIENT: AusNet
LOCATION: Victoria
YEAR(S): 2024-2025
SCOPE: To design, manufacture and deliver 220kV Arteche Power Voltage Transformers
BACKGROUND:
Carwarp Terminal Station is a critical infrastructure component supporting the 171 MW Carwarp Solar Farm in North-West Victoria, approximately 35 km south of Mildura. The solar farm, developed by Recurrent Energy and constructed by GRS, is connected to the National Electricity Market via a 6.7 km 220 kV overhead line terminating at the newly built Carwarp Terminal Station. This connection enables efficient transmission of clean energy generated by the solar farm, which is expected to power over 88,000 homes annually and contribute significantly to Victoria’s renewable energy targets.
As a trusted supplier to AusNet, GFF Power/Arteche were selected to design, manufacture, and deliver 220kV Arteche Power Voltage Transformers for the Carwarp Terminal Station. The scope of work included full logistical support—covering international freight, port clearance, and on-site delivery—as well as ongoing technical assistance throughout the project lifecycle.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
- Design, manufacture and supply of Arteche power voltage transformers.
- Ongoing project management, including provision of regular updates relating to anticipated delivery timeline.
- Complete logistical assistance covering international freight, port clearance and delivery to site, including unloading.
- Technical support as required by AusNet throughout the project.
OUTCOMES:
All equipment was manufactured to AusNet’s specifications, produced in-line with the agreed schedule, and safely delivered to site per the project required timelines.
